This product requires quite a bit of force to push potatoes and sweet potatoes through. My wife can't even apply enough pressure to use it. I haven't touched it in months and just pulled it out to cut sweet potatoes. The entire cutting part of the web was mostly torn apart when the potato was punched. This paring knife works great IF: 1) Snip off each end of the potato to give a flat surface for better slicing and straight pressing. Otherwise the potato will slide sideways against the pusher and eventually try to push the potato into a turn (making it extremely difficult if not impossible). 2) Microwave the sweet potato for 2-3 minutes before attempting to cut it. it will make a difference.
