Set of 3 Prepworks Multifunctional Dough Presses Review

I wanted to post this review in case anyone is interested. The blue color in the bundle is great for Goya Empanadas slices. I sealed it with nothing in it to try. This worked pretty well and will get the job done. Two recommendations: When pressing empanadas, use flour and press firmly to seal tightly.

I bought this set for my mum almost a year ago and she LOVES it. She no longer uses a fork to press pancakes on pancakes, they get the job done much faster. A medium sized press (blue) is ideal for Goya discs or empanada batter, large Goya discs work well with a red press. We use them all the time now for empanadas. Tip: Press with your fingers, that's all you need.

It's just amazing, my daughter and I made two different sized pancakes. We love the fact that there is a round cutter on the opposite side of this product that you can use to cut out your cookie dough. Then you put in the round dough to make the empanadas, it's very easy. We learned the hard way that if too much meat is put in, empanadas will pop out of the back of this product when you squeeze it. That being said, these are beautifully made items and I will be buying more.

Problems with this product can be solved by trial and error, larger circle of dough, too much filling, better dough. etc. I used a batter recipe I found online to make beef empanadas. Some had the dough squeezing out from under the press, perhaps because of too much filling. Some didn't seal properly either, I think the dough needs to be slightly larger than a circle, or maybe the edges need brushing with water. Overall a great product for the price, I think I'll be interested in trying many…

It was a great purchase. They make my life so much easier when I'm making ravioli and empanadas. A little learning how much topping to put in, but once you do it's easy. A few tips: Make sure your dough completely covers the ridges. When you close it, press firmly enough to ensure the edges are sealed tightly and skim any excess pastry from the side before opening. If you find the dough sticking to it, just rub some flour on the inside. It's much easier and quicker than making empanadas…

This is a set of three graduated size dough presses. They are 4, 5 and 6 inches in diameter. I personally use the largest, the 6" diameter, but the small ones work well too depending on what I'm doing. I just can't stuff the little ones that full. The largest holds about 3 tablespoons of filling.
