The hook and line are strong enough to hold my 100lb Great Pyrenees.

I like the rope, it does the job, it's strong and won't kill the grass. On the other hand, after about 8 months the plastic comes off the hook and I'm worried about the cable rusting or the individual wires slowly breaking. So I change it about every 8 months.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Terrible Fasteners - Tie-Outs & Stakes

Haven't used this and can already tell the zippers are going to be a big problem for my dog. It takes them both hands to unclasp the clasp and somehow dig through their long Pyrenean fur to find the ring and then figure out how to attach it. i need three hands Now I have to either buy two clasps to change this causing the weak link or return it and find a more compatible clasp.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • The list will go on.

Better Than Many: Dogs

Better Than Most Cables. We have the Great Pyrenees and if you know the Pyrenees you know they will travel. She has a large fenced back yard but sometimes we allow her to be in the yard but on a cord. These cables have a large clip. She can usually unlock the most, which is why I highly recommend this guy. Unfortunately, these cables are similar to most. They don't last very long and will rust and break or come loose from the clamp without warning.

The closure is easy, the cable does not break!

I have a 162lb Great Dane/Neapolitan Mastiff, not even two yet. He's the strongest dog I've ever met. He broke other cords and even collars. and didn't even flinch. he doesn't do it with it. And as for the clasp. I also like it because it doesn't break either. I've used it a few times and got used to how to work with it to open it. It's not as bad as some claim. I'm just glad to know that my huge (not always so friendly) dog can't get loose. If of course it wears out. I'm sure I will buy itโ€ฆ

SUPER STRONG. BEST PRODUCT I FIND

I have a 75 lb Bulldog/Lab mix. She is not a huge dog, but she is very powerful. She's torn more cables, lines, and harnesses than I can count. until I found this one. This is my second. I've had the first one for about 10 months and it's still in pretty good condition. It started to wear out because my dog loves to jump over my cement patio wall, walk on it and just run around. After a while the cable rubbing against the bike will fray a bit and I got bumped bringing it. However, this is theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Contradictory - Training and behavioral aids

Three stars for four reasons (I have some concerns): First and foremost, the product does what it describes: It secures my dogs in a fixed location. Second, as other reviewers have noted, the bars are heavy, very heavy. "So what," I thought, "so they work, don't they?" Not really. On both of my dogsโ€”one is 65 pounds and the other is 90 poundsโ€”the buckles were so heavy that their respective harnesses sagged sideways when properly tightened. The dogs are tired. Third, on those snaps: They'reโ€ฆ

The clasps are heavy and seem to last a long time.

. I have to say that this is a very strong and heavy load and I'm not overly concerned that it won't hold my very energetic and strong dog. The clasps are heavy and seem to last a long time. But even after reading all the reviews complaining about difficult clasps, I figured they can't be that bad and ordered them anyway. The latches are big, heavy, and I have to use two hands to operate them, and I sometimes found it impossible when my dog was on and not sitting perfectly still. I ended upโ€ฆ

Great cable for dogs, BAD clips!

This heavy duty dog leash is rated for dogs up to 250 pounds and I believe it. While my two Great Danes only weigh 150 pounds and don't tend to tug on their cord, I didn't like the user ratings of the next cord (125 pound estimate) and wanted the cord to at least be rated for their weight. The cord is lighter than I would have guessed from the picture and shouldn't be a problem for any dog over 100 pounds. The case is slick and slippery and so far has refused to tangle and tangle where the oldโ€ฆ
