like their other sets

Prima Marketing have assigned this set the number 49-60. This is the second set of Prima Marketing watercolors in which they have named colors. However, the names aren't about color, with the exception of a couple, gold or copper. It's really hard to tell if the colors really "shimmer". There are a few that look really shimmery: 49, 51, 53, 58, 59, 60. The other 6 are thin. The half plates slide into the body like the other kits. Maybe glue, tape or magnets will help. I love that they can be…

Pros
  • This one has something
Cons
  • Available in black only

I have other Prima kits and love them and was pleasantly surprised at the value for money. In this "Flickering Lights" set I see very beautiful desert landscapes painted or highlights added to nature images. I think it will complement the Decandant Pies set exceptionally well. The shimmer is very subtle, if you don't put them in the sun they really shimmer! I think the glass alone and the halves of the pot are worth the price of the set, as you can refill it endlessly with any color after you…

Very "happy " colors!

I have been a watercolourist for several years and it was a job "out of interest". So the colors are really fun! I've been playing with them for a few weeks now. Someone says that not all flicker, but all flicker, just to varying degrees. I like them all very much. I think these are really artist paints? No, but they add a bit of sparkle to some of my projects and I'm really glad I bought them. The very thin glaze of these colors adds spice to some of my paintings. You'll need to add quite a…

Not All That Glitters Is Gold

My least favorite of the watercolor confectionery palettes for a number of reasons. First, the colors are very similar. The magic of watercolor confectionery palettes is that each coordinating color group appears very full in different tones and shades, giving you light and dark shades and skewing very strongly towards warm and cool. Everyone. There are no flickering lights. Everything is very orange. No dark tones, no cool cool tones. Secondly, the colors are activated for a long time. And a…

Twinkling Lights is an apt name

These metallic watercolors live up to their name. You are absolutely beautiful in person. It's hard to get a good picture of them. I've recently started taking a lot of classes on Skillshare and many watercolor educators use art philosophy watercolors in general. I bought the Shimmering Lights palette after seeing how beautiful metallics can look in a contemporary watercolor floral arrangement at one of the classes I took. Haven't used them in an actual painting yet - I've just made patterns on
