Size: 1/4 inch X 1-1/2 inch. Heavy duty wood screw with 6 sided hex bolt head. Features deep wood screw threads and does not accept a nut. Used in applications where standard wood screws cannot support the load (deck building, etc.). Requires pilot hole to be drilled and installs using wrench or socket tool.

The end result looks good.

Used to fasten floorboards in the attic. I was having a problem connecting wood to steel cross members and decided to cut and weld expanded metal I bought at a flea market for $5 and used these bolts with stainless steel washers fitted at the bottom as hidden gear, like seen in the photo. The second photo shows how the attic looks clean now. Old, weathered wood was salvaged from the boardwalk at Jacksonville Beach Pier that was destroyed by Hurricane Matthew.
