To be precise. I love the look of this kettle and it does the job perfectly. However, I've only had it for a few months and it's already starting to rust on the bottom and around the opening of the kettle (where the lid fits). I am extremely disappointed. I can't return it for a refund as the 'window' closed 2 weeks ago. I think I should have been more vigilant about rust, but since it's advertised as "stainless steel" I wasn't worried about rust. Attention buyers!

This kettle has a capacity of 2.5 litres. The heat resistant handle works great and the spout opener is very conveniently located on top of the handle. You have to fill it almost 1/2 full before the whistle will work. At least that's what I found with mine. Even if the whistle didn't work I wouldn't return it. I gave 4 stars because of the whistle. I really wanted to like this kettle. It looks good. He whistles. The handle doesn't get hot. It's made from a thin sheet of metal, so I figured it wouldn't last long. After a few months it started to rust around the edges but I could deal with that. You can't leave water in it, which my last two kettles couldn't, and it's a pain. I love this kettle! Here are a few features I like: 1) The seamless floor is very pretty and easy to clean. 2) The brushed stainless steel exterior is very easy to clean and goes well with my brushed stainless steel oven. 3) The whistle is pleasant, pleasant, higher pitched, not too loud (as opposed to an "angry" whistle! The whistle sometimes changes depending on how much water you poured into the kettle). The enclosed instructions state that it is NOT possible to use a burner at maximum heat.

Update from original review: The problem arose over the weekend and Primula customer service emailed first thing Monday morning to find out what happened. They told me this has never happened before and sent a new kettle for the night. I checked the grip and the pin is very strong and doesn't have a locking mechanism like the old one.
