Perfect! I've been watching quite a few videos lately that use the potato ricer to make amazing mashed potatoes and I can tell you - it's worth it! the potato with the skin sticks to the cob, which makes it very easy to remove the skin. Can't wait to use the ricer for other recipes, it's so easy to use and clean. I wish I hadn't waited so long to buy one! Replaced a 20 year old potato maker that was very old, rattled, loose, slightly rusty and wobbly. We struggled with the old one for so many years and forgot how smoothly the new one works! The "pot rack" on the opposite side of the handle makes loading and one-person operation even easier and more convenient when roasting large batches of Thanksgiving-sized potatoes. I hope this model lasts for more than 20 years. Let's face it, 20 years from now, rice will probably still be my staple. ;-)

This rice cooker works perfectly but requires considerable pressure to operate which is very inconvenient due to the straight metal edges on the inside of the handles. It may appear that the outside of the handles is most important for padding, but you actually have to hold the handles from the inside until the riser is almost closed/empty. No complaints. You put the potatoes in, push the lever down and the potatoes come out of the holes without lumps. Isn't that what you wanted? This item is decently made enough for its intended purpose. If you're laying rocks, don't expect sand to form.
