Prismacolor 27050 Premier NuPastel 36 Count Review

It's more like chalk than what I'm used to and as such it's a completely different instrument. They are very hard and don't smear and my son dropped them about 4 inches and they broke. I wouldn't buy them again.

I use them for pastels on sandpaper. They also work on regular pastel paper. The colors are similar to the Prismacolor pencils. I really enjoy working with this tool. It's a hard pastel and not as messy as a chalk pastel. The price was good for a box of 36.

I don't do much pastel painting but I have these because I thought a softer look might be good. Only two broke. Not the same color palette as the Premiers, some crumbly reds, all dusty. However, lay it down and brush over it and you will be happy. Left - water and a brush, right - just a stick.

Two chalk paints arrived damaged but I figured the chances of getting a new one intact were slim. These crayons are very fragile and two more broke when I put them on the counter and changed color. The color is bold and beautiful and they go well together. For a beginner or those who just do art/color every once in a while this is fine, but I'm looking for something more permanent.

Highly recommended for anyone who wants to try pastel or has pastel experience. They blend very easily and are very smooth on paper. I've tried many budget brands and types but none come close to this quality of color and blend. I have no experience with high end brands but I'm sure they will match their quality too. For this price there is almost no reason to choose more expensive alternatives 🤷‍♀️

I like it a lot. About 6 sticks were broken but that's okay because sooner or later I'll break them anyway. I like the quality of the pigments and am happy with my purchase. However, the red wand is simply useless; I broke it into small pieces, thinking that the pencil might have been heavily coated with something to keep the pigment from settling, but this didn't give the color saturation I was expecting. For colors that really work - I love them. However, most of the red/pink in the box doesn't work, so almost the entire range. By not working, I mean that even with extreme force pressed into the paper, minimal color comes out, and it's almost impossible to try to sketch or outline with it. Extremely disappointed.
