Cracked, not for beginners

Arrived in cracked packaging. It doesn't really matter as they will break with use anyway. Very fragile and does not bend easily. These are hard pastels. If you are a beginner I recommend softer chalks like Faber Castell Soft Pastels.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish

Ideal for drawing on multipurpose art paper.

Strong enough to draw a line on paper without falling apart. I'm new to this environment. I used them to draw a slide on drawing paper. It held but mixed where I wanted. I managed to get the whiskers on the squirrel I drew and they were distinct. My husband drew with sticks and loved the ease with which they drew. They are less messy than soft pastels.

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • No instructions

Perfect for adult coloring book backgrounds!

I have these to color backgrounds for my adult coloring books. They lay down well and for the most part erase enough to make the surface you want to color in with a pencil clear. Although they are fragile. I accidentally dropped the box on the carpet from a height of about a meter and it broke. Don't worry about that as you still have to disassemble them to use them. I only wish I had a larger set with additional shades. If you can swing, grab a big box.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Crumpled wrapping

Came in a box with another item. like that .

Came in a box with another item. So it was free. Every pastel was broken. Not in half where I could only use half. They were cut into several pieces. They exchanged my purchase and all the pastels were there. Thank you for your diligence. And they are smooth and work great.

Pros
  • Made in USA
Cons
  • Expensive

Great for first time sketching

I enjoyed my first use. I'm new to pastels and wanted to see which solid pastels I like more, Nupastel or semi-hard pastels from the Mungyo gallery. I like the color scheme better on the Nupastel 12 set and they are very similar to the Mungyo which are a bit softer looking. But since Mungyo claims to have better lightfastness, I'll probably go for Mungyo if I get a larger set. These nude pastels applied easily to Canson Mi Teintes pastel paper and I found that I could easily apply at least 4-5โ€ฆ

Pros
  • Create bold, vibrant drawings with vivid colors
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
