2/21/19 We have a 50lb Border Collie and based on the reviews I bought him an XL. He would probably be in better hands in the Bolshoi. It runs about 2 inches from its back to its tail. Due to the adjustment around the waist, I was able to make it snug enough to fit and hug his body. It has no lining and I wish it was a little warmer for going outside in inclement weather. We haven't used it on his hike yet, so more information will follow later.

Very happy with this raincoat. It's so easy to put on and offers great coverage. I especially like that it also covers my little doggie's chest and tummy, preventing rainwater from hitting the ground on her chest and tummy. It has an innovative design, is well made and durable. hind legs, because otherwise they would rub against their genitals. I recently bought this because my dog doesn't understand the concept of inclement weather. If she wants to go for a walk, we must go for a walk. The only thing my dog raincoat MUST have was the top opening harness this one has and ironically I have yet to test it. My only criticism of this product is the elastic "hoops" for the rear legs. We are very happy with this raincoat. Our poodle mix has a long body, but this coat covers the back to the base of the tail. There is just enough adjustment for the coat to fit her chest comfortably. The fact that the flap is placed under her chest to protect her front and chassis is a pleasant surprise. I have a traditionally broad chested Staffordshire Terrier mix. She also loves her zooms! Coats with buttons or zippers across the chest just can't take the pressure of a wide chest + zumi combo. We have a winter coat with a panel on the chest and a tie around the waist. She wasn't able to rip this coat off and it stays in place pretty well.
