I have purchased other portable rollers like this in the past. What I didn't like is that they are loud and harsh. So when you're pressing on a muscle, there's not much to give. This roller is quiet, the handle has a light grip so my hand doesn't slip, and the foam roller is firm but not hard so my muscles give a little even when I push down. So it's more like someone massaging me with their hand rather than a hard plastic tool. Highly recommended.

I had amazing results with this thing and threw away my useless hand roller. Perfect design for general rolling or targeted release of muscle tension. It is designed to place the palm of your hand on the thicker part of the handle, grip the thin part with your fingers, and apply slight downward pressure by rolling forward or backward. Surprised the pressure I applied didn't break the handle - very solid construction. Highly recommended. I take this thing everywhere on planes, trips etc.

The company hasn't responded to my email inquiries so I'm deducting another star. What follows is the original 2 star rating. Tell the factory bosses to change molds more often. I'm sure it could be a BIG roller, but burrs (excess plastic extruded from two sides of the mold touching) indicate either poor initial mold processing or molds that have been used too long to make money to save.
