Description of πŸ›οΈ Optimized Arm Elevation Pillow by ProCare

Provides comfortable, stable support with minimal restraint; Ideal for use on wrist, arm and shoulder surgeries, and mastectomy patients. Allows you to maintain the proper arm position and aids in reducing edema (swelling) for pre/post-cast or post-surgical procedures. Constructed of dense, fire retardant foam that prevents it from flattening, which effectively provides sustained elevation. Friction from the foam means the arm elevator won't slide off the bed, and your arm won't slide off the elevator; Measures 13.25" L x 12" H. Universal design allows the ProCare Arm Elevation Foam Support Pillow to be used on either the left or right arm; One size fits most.

This will be very helpful in healing after hand surgery

After hand surgery, keeping your arm upright is of paramount importance. This elevation pillow keeps your hand in the correct position when in use. I used it to sleep with my arm in the right position. My doctor was amazed at my recovery. No swelling, no infection and good circulation. My recovery was ahead of schedule and part of my success was the Procare Arm Lift Pillow.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Everything is fine

Not the best quality

I needed this product after extensive wrist surgery. It worked fine but the different parts are held together with glue or something, there isn't a solid piece cut out of foam and the part along the back of the hand peels off after about 3 days. For the price it should be better quality. I'm still using it after a month, but I have to be very careful when using it to place my hand so that I don't pull my back back any further.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Nothing

Helpful but expensive

After my arm surgery I found that this item can actually hold my arm up, especially at night while sleeping. This allowed me to get into bed and get out of the chair. It was very bulky and really just styrofoam with a hole in it. The bottom part fell off in less than a week. It parted a bit, but my 8 year old curiosity won out. I can still use it without the bottom and I'm sure my hot glue gun could fix it, but it's so much less bulky I've decided to leave it as is. I'm glad I bought it to…

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Completely useless and I was shocked to learn I couldn't return it! In the description it seems that you can use it in multiple positions, but in fact you can only use it with your hand up. I have to tilt my arm (broken wrist and surgery) but not point it straight up, which was extremely uncomfortable with this thing. $65 down the drain, I'm thinking about breaking my friend's arm to give to him. My friend suggested that the cat might like to crawl in (probably so I wouldn't break their arm).

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Mandatory if you are going to have thumb wrist surgery

I don't know what I would have done after wrist surgery without them. I needed it for about 10 days and the only place I could find it was here on Amazon. I'm a nurse and knew I would need something to put my hand on my heart after surgery. Thank god I had it. I slept in the chair for about 4/5 nights and kept ice on it for 24 hours. Yes, you have to do that to stop taking more painkillers. The ice I received was the CryoMAX refillable, latex-free, 8 hour ice pack, medium, 12 x 6 inches (1…

A great help in the fight against swelling and pain after surgery!

I recently had major reconstructive surgery on my wrist and this pillow just saved my life! Yes, it's bulky, but that makes it stable. For the first five days, I held it on my arm 24 hours a day with my fingers pointing toward the ceiling. I held it close to my chest for walking and laid it on the couch next to me. Yes, it's cheaply built for the price. After reading the negative reviews, I pre-sealed the cracks in the front shield with superglue. I also put tape on the barrel to make it easier

Pros
  • beautiful thing
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

not everything I was hoping for

Bought this to help get through the pain of a broken wrist and subsequent surgery. The photos made it seem helpful to get enough sleep at night. it's not like this. it was anything but comfortable. Notice the rounded center of the edge where the elbow goes. This causes extreme discomfort in the shoulder when sleeping on your back. I really wanted to return it. As a last resort to use it so as not to waste my money as it is non-refundable, I tried it while sitting for a day. I found it much more

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Not bad
