🐾 C&S UltraKibble - 15 lbs Review

These are lovely little pellets and my chickens who don't like chicken feed/processed foods will actually eat them. They have fish and extra protein. I don't feed them alone but mix it in with their regular birdseed when they molt or in cold weather when they need extra protein.

My chickens lifted their beaks and left! You wouldn't even try! That fooled me, I thought I ordered the mealworms, my fault, but I think it was listed along with the mealworms. My chickens love mealworms, now they're mad at me for running out of their favorite treats.

I love the ingredients: animal protein, vegetable etc. And no soy! But my chickens must be nuts because they don't eat it. However, I have a lot of chicks at the moment and I feed them UltraKibble for Chicks. They love it and absorb it so maybe after getting used to the taste and texture I can switch them over to this ultra adult treat. I'm sure it won't go to waste.

I've tried dry drying, soaking and mixing with other things. My four chickens refuse to eat it. I give it to them every day for a month, it always stays in their feeder at the end of the day. Now I grind it up and feed it to my mealworm farm. I think that's the only way I'm going to add it to my chickens :( I'm giving it 2 stars, not just one for the ingredients. I want my girls to love it.

I have been feeding this feed since 2012 because I want my chicks to get fish protein from a feed specially formulated for chicks. Don't expect your chickens to take it right away. We have been using this feed for our chickens for over a year now. They're *extremely* good at it. I've had a hard time finding soy-free foods that are high in animal protein because chickens aren't vegetarians and soy has a lot more ammonia in their bedding, which is bad for their respiratory system.
