LG internal drive bundle includes a 1 pack of M-DISC BD, SATA cable, power connection cable, 4 mounting screws. Laser-Etching Data. Etching the rock-hard data layer encased in the M-DISC requires more power than what's found in a typical optical disc drive. M-DISC uses a non-volatile rock-like data layer, which is more durable than reflective organic dye-based layers found in conventional DVDs. It allows permanent data storage lasting up to 1000 years. Burn speeds of 14x for BD-R, 16x for DVD-R/+R and 48x for CD-R, Read speeds of 12x for BD-R, 16x for DVD-R/+R and 48x for CD-R, DVD Dual Layer (DL) burn speed at 8x and read speed at 12x. B --- Nero! The drive is good Win10

The drive works fine. I love LG products. I'm not sure how they've performed because the LG stuff I've gotten before is retained so I don't need any updates. I know a lot of companies are cutting corners right now, so I'm not sure how strong that drive will be. So far it works great. I'll let you know if anything outrageous happens. Now to Nero. My Nero Essentials came out in 2012! This applies to the 32-bit Windows operating system. I found out about this because when I installed Windows 10 on

SUPER easy assembly!

I'm not the type to dig into the innards of my PC, but I figured I could easily replace this new one with my old one. It was very easy! I just loosened 3 screws, 1 left, 2 right. 2 cables loosened from the back and pulled out the old one, plugged in the new one. I put the 3 screws back in, reconnected the 2 cables, closed the case and plugged everything back in. Turned it on and it worked! I thought I would have to download drivers and EXPECTED major problems to get it working. NO! Inserted aโ€ฆ

Great hardware - misleading software

I installed the drive in minutes. I made the mistake of paying for the updated version with Nero 12. I received a demo that WON'T PLAY BLU-RAY DISCS! Save money and buy just the drive. When Nero didn't recognize the disc I thought "Shame on me." I upgraded to the full version of Nero which, SHOCKED, also doesn't support the LG drive. In the end I paid 39โ‚ฌ. more for a product called VideoSolo that works great. Again, good drive, easy to install, no working software from this manufacturerโ€ฆ

Don't buy a drive + PowerDVD bundle. You get ripped off.

The drive is ok but with PowerDVD they cheat you. They give you PowerDVD 10 but the latest version is PowerDVD 15 and they no longer support PowerDVD 10. So you buy a drive with PowerDVD only to find out you can't even update it to the latest drivers required to play all your Blu -ray discs off! Of course, you may think that I can just upgrade to the latest version, but upgrading from version 10 will cost you a retail price of $139.90, which is exactly the same price as if you bought the fullโ€ฆ

Bluray Easy Replacement

My old Plextor drive stopped reading/writing Bluray discs and local stores didn't seem to have a replacement. So I went to Revain and found the LG 14x WH14NS40. The specs looked good so I ordered a blank with no software as I already have the Cyberlink software. It came with mdisk, which I didn't try to write to but downloaded to make sure it was recognized. Installation couldn't be easier. The hard drive had the latest firmware. I turned off my computer, opened the case, uninstalled theโ€ฆ
