    Not an exact replacement, will not fill all bulbs.

    The deflector is NOT a direct replacement for the original and will not work with some types of lamps. This baffle has a compound stepped conical body that does not allow incandescent bulbs to be screwed in. Orig is a single cone design. The picture and diagram show the original single cone design which is NOT what this baffle is. The original is on the left in the photo, this item is on the right.

    No problem, but how about an improvement?

    I didn't understand the "Step Cone" design mentioned in another review. I got the standard cone and it was a direct replacement/match to the one I picked up which was 14 years old and rusty. Someone noticed that these novelties are made of plastic, so there is no need to paint, but that's not the case. They are made of white powder coated aluminum and will eventually need to be repainted. plastic please? Heat is not a problem, especially when using LED lamps.
