I really like the container itself for the most part. The disc arrived with a crack down the middle, but I tried to carefully insert it into the disc holder on the inside of the lid. On the first try, the pane broke completely in half. I repaired the disc and tried again. Then the upper plastic part of the 4 plastic disc holders broke off. Now it holds in place, but the terracotta pieces keep breaking off and crumbling, so I don't feel comfortable using it with food (sugar). I'll still use this

I love these cases! You will definitely keep brown sugar fresh and soft if you use the terracotta stone properly. You don't want to soak the stone for too long or the brown sugar will get too wet and end up sticking together from all the water. Soak for exactly 15 minutes. (or less), wipe excess water off the stone with a paper towel and place on the top/holder of the container and close. Fresh brown sugar! Repeat every 3 months or so.
