It's hard to find a passive subwoofer without power.

I needed an unpowered subwoofer for some ceiling speakers and a Bluetooth 2.1 amplifier. I like that it's so cheap and passive. He adds that punch to movies and music. Without breaking the bank, for this price it suits my system well.

The speaker burned out after 3 minutes of use!

Hook up a 200 watt amp, turn all settings to minimum to add bass but no punch. Played a song and after only 3 minutes of play the speaker exploded and started popping, popping and buzzing. Complete garbage. Save your money!

Pros
  • Solid construction
Cons
  • I'm silent

good body The sub was terrible!

I bought 2 of these about 2 years ago when they were about $35. The subs were junk and blew up right away, but the case is really good and you can get a $25 or $30 sub that works and sounds great. I put the Boss subwoofer in the closet and installed it in my son's car and it sounds great! The original subwoofer does not meet the specifications at all!

Buyer beware I received a faulty speaker

I bought a full kit, got it installed at a local shop, the tech has been doing my car stereo for two decades. Today it suddenly stopped working, so I took it to the technician house. His words aren't mine "it's not blown but there is no power in the speaker, it's defective or has a bad solder joint inside". It only hits at a max power of 350, so it should run forever. To prove his point, he plugged in a blown speaker and then a new one. A good value speaker in a box with a good name.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use

  • Available in white only

A tough little subwoofer

This is an amazing subwoofer. I installed it on my son's 2000 Mustang to complement a dual XHD7411 and a 200 watt Clarion amp in a tri-mode configuration. I'm not great with excessive carry and distorted hits, bumps, bumps, so I'm happy with how this subwoofer hits at the right time and volume. When you get your amp right, you'll feel and hear great bass, not a vibrating disaster. This subwoofer is well made and worth the price. The free shipping was very fast. I am completely satisfied and my…

Sturdy construction, great price!

Totally satisfied with this set, not only for the price but also for the features. The body is well built and attractive. The sound isn't as loud as some other more expensive subwoofers, but for the price you're paying you can't expect competitive-level performance. For anyone complaining about the subwoofer burning out in this enclosure, you clearly don't understand how to properly place a subwoofer. 400 watts means that it is designed for this level. If you run a 280 watt RMS amp and increase

Perfect for my needs

I chose this subwoofer because of its low price and because it was good enough for my needs. I have a pair of Yamaha Lipai powered outdoor speakers on my patio and they give me perfect sound, even louder than I really need. However, my Lipai has the option to connect a subwoofer, so I was looking for a cheap and closed unit that could provide some bass to my Yamahas. The result is amazing; now the sound on my patio is perfect for outdoor cooking and parties with friends; the sound was good with

Lines out of phase?

This handset is much larger than expected so read the specs first. I bought this subwoofer to help a pair of old KLH seventeen speakers. I'm using a 2.1 amp, 80 watts per channel for the main speakers [KLH Seventeens] and 160 watts for the subwoofer [PLTB8]. With Pandora on the iTouch, I started with Christmas music. At full power on the subwoofer, I noticed Pyle crackling. Remember this speaker should be pulling 400 watts, I only have 160 watts to give it. It was strange to say the least. I…
