Qiilu 5 Speed Car Gear Shift Knob Boot Gearstick Gaiter Kit - Replacement for Golf 6 MK5 MK6 Jetta 2005-2014 (Manual/Auto) Review

Well it says it's a 5 speed but low and here is the unit I got was a 6 speed. Rather than return it, I replaced my old 5 speed knob with a new boot. Bam is ready and you don't have to wait for the second device to be returned and shipped. I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the wrong button.

Seller: Qiilu Was out of stock at Premiere when I ordered. Came from China in a month. Tired of the wait I decided to shop around and found it would be available the next day from the same seller. I ordered it the same day the item arrived from China so I canceled my order. So, apart from the SUPER SLOW delivery, the product is amazing. Fits perfectly. It kinda hurts in the ass to take the old one off, but damn it's nice and clean.

This is such a simple change that makes the interior of the car look so much better. I bought this shift knob and boot to replace an old worn out leather boot in my car. Installation is easy as all you have to do is pull up the plastic trim, cut the metal clip that attaches the gear knob to the metal shifter, remove the old one and install in reverse order.

I have a 2010 mk 6 2.5L Golf. The base and gaiters matched perfectly, but the grip was not an OEM replacement. Inside the standard handle is a notch that matches the notch on the metal rod. The goal is to prevent the handle from rotating. I just reused the factory button, that was my goal from the start so no damage is done to me. Tip: I used a dremel to remove the factory clip instead of cutting it with wire cutters or trying to pry it out with a screwdriver. The included clip works great.
