A good replacement for the Boss whistle, I had no problems with taper. Pay attention to the details of the description; it's not a 3" threaded barrel like the Chief CMS003! It has a 3" neck with a 1" threaded barrel on each side for a 5" length. This adds 3" of extension instead of 1".

Fasteners are not all the same! I was very impressed with the design and build quality of the mount. My previous setup used a Chief mount extension, which didn't have the same finish and fit as the QualGear mount. Superb powder coating, well packaged for postage and the detachable plastic cable access is very well designed. Will definitely be looking for QualGear products for my next setup.

This is great if you want a quality hose that you know will fit your mount and look great. I needed to increase the projector's distance from the ceiling and this was the perfect length for me. It matches the rest of the mount so looks nice and has also been pre-lubed to keep it running smoothly. I would definitely recommend this to any generic whistle that I couldn't even find an equivalent for at Home Depot. If you need to extend your mount, do yourself a favor and get it!

Just received my 2ft QualGear extension to replace the 1ft Omnimount extension. I was expecting it to be a simple switch. This is not the case: the QualGear extension tube I received is described as "NPT Compliant" but does not meet NPT standards as it has no taper. The NPT standard prescribes a conicity of the threaded part from 1 to 16 (narrower outer part, wider inner part).
