Quality Optics USA Folding Jewelers Loupe Pocket Magnifier (Extra Large Fold Away Loupe) Review

This was a great deal on something exactly as described. I use it to check my houseplants for pests. The different magnification levels are very helpful. I also like the small size because you can get as close as you need without the lens getting in the way of the plant like larger magnifiers do.

Having had very nice (expensive) Hasting triplets in the past I was very hesitant to buy these for my very picky son who needs a good magnifying glass for his Hobby wanted is numismatics. He tried several other loops and gave them up. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something he wouldn't like so we tried this loupe, 10 x 21 Hasting Triplet. Oversized folding magnifier measures over 6" when open and approx. 36mm or 1.38" thick cap/handle. When closed, it measures 3.66 inches by 2.37 inches by 1.38 inches. In my opinion too big to fit comfortably in your pocket. The free opening is about 46 mm. Definitely NOT a 10x loupe compared to the Belomo 10x Hastings Triplet loupe, but not as over the top as many Chinese made loupes claim. , Much narrower magnification than the Carson LumiLoupe 5X Illuminated Loupe.
