I ordered two of these poster easels for events. The first one I opened had a broken leg when it came out of the box. The cord has been severed. I repaired the cord by replacing the broken end with a piece of rawhide. It has been used twice and still works perfectly. When another easel was taken out of the box for the third time, a leg fell off. This time the cord broke before it was severed. I am about to order two easels that have a different way of folding their size.

This tripod has metal poles that fit together like old metal tent poles. There are small plastic clips that fold into a slightly horizontal position to create an edge for your board. They snap when folded down, but they can move down if too much weight is put on them. Also, the legs don't snap into place, so the entire stand could collapse if the legs hit. If you're looking for something to put things in then this is perfect. But you have to keep in mind that they do not fit all products. For example, it fits perfectly on a 36 x 48 poster board for presentation at a scientific conference. However, it doesn't hold your coffee or the item you put the coffee in.
