Enhanced PRO-164 Radio Scanner by RadioShack Review

Can't complain. Has everything I need for a scanner without digital trunking. I bought an antenna for it, I think most people who buy it have the same idea, but this combo is great for aviation bands, mainly for the way I use it. Good range, long battery life, easy to use once you get the hang of it. Not too big for what it can deliver.

This is a great scanner once you figure out how to program it for your region. My area has a trunk system and I followed the instructions on the Radio Guide website and entered all the codes manually. It was easier for me than confusing PC software. It took a little while but when I was done everything worked and continues to work.

Compare online manuals for PRO-164 and Uniden BC125AT. This is the best way to compare the differences between two scanners. When I first got the 125 I had trouble programming it and I couldn't download the software needed to program it from Uniden. The instructions are vague at best. I've returned 125 times 164 and I don't regret the decision. So much easier to use and $20 cheaper on average.
