Not sure! Might start a fire! Thermal melt design flaw!

UPDATE 2: The second radio has the same thermal event as it is stuck in transmit mode with the programming cable attached. Even tried other cables, always the same result, and tried other popular YouTube HAM channels and got the same results. It appears to be a defect in the radio itself, not the cable. Radioditty recently released the new waterproof GS-5B handheld that meets the needs of a more industrial radio that can withstand everyday abuse in a work environment withstands . The case is definitely more durable than a typical PDA and has a 7.4 volt 2000 mAh battery. The battery is fixed with a screw to increase tightness and moisture resistance. FAIL. NOT WORTH.

Bottom line: save money and skip. I had this radio and I tested it. Here are Pro's observations: The radio is orange and feels solid in the hand. The flashlight on the bottom is bright, but seriously, who really needs a flashlight on the radio. The reception is excellent, much better than any portable baofeng. I have several Baofeng with different antennas and this one is better than all the others. The transmission works perfectly, no better than any other radio in this price range. Charged…

I foresee it replacing UV-5R and becoming the standard for all non-digital HT. The distance/range is excellent, outperforming my established Japanese brand ham radios.
