If your life depends on this device, then this device may not be for you. If you just want it to work, this might not be the device for you. Have owned it for over two years and it is absolute junk!

Holds the SPOT X securely

The Velcro strap that comes with the SPOT X does not allow the device to fit in the mount. If you loosen the strap, place the device in the mount, and then wrap the strap UNDER the mount, it is VERY secure.

Solid: I bought a second

I bought one of these to dash mount my SpotX with the rest of the planting gear. It worked great. The mount makes it quick and easy to add and remove. It is difficult. I don't worry about it falling off. I can even send and receive messages from my dock with this stand. I even bought a second one to use with a belt clip while hiking. It swings too much with just the carabiner. That's no problem now.
