Does the job but the zip ties don't hold the unit to the handlebars as securely as I would like. The assembly and GPS unit don't hang out, but could be stronger. Be careful when turning the GPS holder on and off, otherwise the tabs on the bottom may bend or break. I had to change after one season. I now have a GPS mount for each bike so that's no longer a problem.

I bought this to mount a Garmin eTrex Vista HCx GPS on my bike and record my rides. I have other handlebar accessories so I decided to attach the device to the bike stem and it works fine there. My only complaint is that the adhesive-backed neoprene strip could have been longer to fit more evenly on the stem; I wouldn't have had enough time to get around my steering wheel either. I like the cheap prices of the RAM mounts and the fact that they are made in the USA.

I bought this mount with a stand mount for my Garmin eTrex 30. The stand fits securely into this mount. I used this to install GPS on the handlebars of my mountain bike. I've used it on a fair amount of single tracks. From time to time I have to readjust the GPS position on the handlebars when it hits hard, but overall it handles bumps well. So far this mount has worked great on my road bike with my Magellan Explorist 710, which is a fairly heavy GPS. This mount might not be strong enough for mountain biking, but it's ok for road biking. The fact that the GPS mount is easy to remove makes it a pleasure to stop and leave my bike outside at the shop. I can turn off the GPS so it won't be stolen while inside. The attachment itself is quite good. It is compatible with my other Ram mount system so I can move the GPS mount from snowmobile to bike. The only downside is that it uses zip ties to attach it. It's almost impossible to stretch them the way you want. Instead of cable ties, I would have preferred either a screw clamp or even a rubber bungee system.

Simply mount the thick knobs to this RAP-274-1U frame mount using zip ties with angle adapters so that it sits flush with the rudder jib. See photo. The only downside is that when I press the buttons, the controller pushes down a bit and it's still usable. I've been using mine on a GPS mountain bike for a few years. Then I put it on my bike to keep the GPS on and rode 30,000 miles of adventure. I then put my newest bike on it and rode 10,000 adventure miles while holding the SPOT beacon. The little protrusions holding it in place broke off one by one.
