📱 RAM-HOL-GA35U Plastic Cradle: Secure Mounting Solution for Garmin Nuvi 1490T Review

I have bought other fasteners from RAM and I am very satisfied with all the products. Perfect fit for my 1450LMT as I expected. Good firm hold = don't worry about it falling out. All my cars have a ball mount on the dashboard so I can easily move the device from one car to another.

This is the off the shelf mount my Garmin was supposed to come with. Note, however, that right angle power will make it a bit tricky to wire them up. It's fine if you don't want to disable GPS often. If that were the case, a few minutes of Dremel work would solve the problem.

Base is strong enough to reliably support GPS. But it's a bit difficult to get in or out of the GPS for this. I had the Nuvi 770 with its RAM base and had the same problem. Also, the top of the GPS tends to get scratched over time due to the top security tab that keeps the device in place. I think they should make that part of the material a little less stiff to make the device easier to load and unload.

As a long distance motorcyclist I need to use the cockpit area of the bike as a lounge and control centre. With 2 GPS's, a cell phone (hands free in a helmet), a radar detector and some basic cameras, things can get a little crazy. My ram mounts help me keep everything organized and comfortable. They are of very high quality and extremely adaptable to different devices and ergonomic needs. Easy five star rating.

This is one of the many Ram products I have purchased over the years. The quality is excellent as the GPS fits perfectly in the mount. Stood on the mountain like it should. And if this is like my last mount that failed on my bike in all weather conditions from 20 degrees to 113+ degrees, it should last a long time. My newest ram mount is still working with its new owner so that might tell you something about its quality. Highly recommended.

Bought before I rode a 3300 mile motorbike. I just bought a new Garmin GPS and didn't want it to fall over. It's not like this. It's way better than I thought. It holds the GPS securely and even has a notch that would hold if you didn't snap it fully into place. The only problem I had was my fault. Bought this mount for my Garmin 1490LMT which I am about to mount on my motorcycle handlebars. The mount is extremely strong and is made from very slightly flexible ABS plastic. There is absolutely no chance of the GPS device vibrating or bouncing off this mount. The bottom edge and top shaft are well designed and hold up well. Anyway, I think I'll have trouble removing the GPS unit from the mount when I park my bike, so I'll probably let go of the extension holding this stand to the handlebar…
