This is a good tool set to help you start wood carving. Made of high quality steel, they are sharp and ready to be polished and used.

The quality has decreased. The edges are cut unevenly. It would be easier to get my old knives razor sharp than it would be to put on new ones. I pay more for a better tool. Too bad the products we love have to be made to lower standards.

Excellent set. I like the feel of them in my hand and they are very easy to cut. I can get good fine details. Be sure to sharpen each of your carving tools, one or the other, with a belt or other sharpening method. They arrived clean and ready to use. I recommend finding a better place to store them, not the box they came in. Mine often get confused when cutting and changing tools. I like to keep mine safe and organized when not in use.

Ok carving kit but I was disappointed that the 5/32 bit was factory offset making it useless until it could be resharpened. I expected more from a company like UJ Ramelson, especially when they have "Quality Workmanship" on their packaging. Unfortunately, without quality control, processing does not matter when defective items leave the house. I might as well pay a fraction of the cost of a kit imported from China that I know would need re-sharpening. Very disappointed.

This is a great wood carving tool set but it is recommended that you take a few hours to thoroughly sharpen all the tools before attempting to use them. The steel is high quality and I ended up using a thin piece of rope which I coated heavily with compound to make the inside of the narrow V tool and U tool. If anyone has a better way to sharpen tool innards please let me know.

Poorly made set. When you receive these types of tools, they are usually either untouched, ready to use, or completely unusable and need to be prepared to work. This set falls somewhere in the middle. You don't need to sharpen them out of the box - they have a shiny bevel. BUT the corners are uneven - so I still need to re-sharpen and then re-sharpen. The steel is good, the grips are good. The finish is not very good. Nonetheless. Considering the price of this set I would probably keep it…

Well I've had to scramble with some chisels and chisels and with limited space I need to keep my tools to a minimum. I bet on her and lost. V Gouge is the worst I have ever experienced. Virtually useless unless you're cutting at such a steep angle that it's unusable. It looks like they forgot what they did and screwed it up and threw it in the kit. Nothing in the photo. I've included a picture of my old $20 timer on the straight V notch for reference. I know the demands on these tools are high,
