Off Label Use

This was bought to be able to walk around the pool with a leg wound. On the first try, the leg got wet despite the closure of the top. Next time, they tucked an "umbrella bag” under the sock, buckled it on top, rolled it up, and laced it up again. This ensured adequate dryness of the wound on the leg. Nice concept but we don't use it for hiking so I don't know how well it will work.

The perfect way to keep your feet dry!

daughter rows. She also has a condition that causes severe pain and swelling in her feet and toes when exposed to the cold and damp for long periods of time. This is the perfect solution! She can wear them all day for a team regatta and her feet stay dry. They are expensive but worth every penny. We first bought a pair to test and after some success bought a second one. Highly recommended.

They keep you warm and dry!

I used them for hiking and boating in Iceland. They worked like a charm. My feet were dry and very warm. We were on the RIB Whale Watching speedboat and the water was definitely splashing in the boat. My feet didn't get wet. I gave four stars because the sock fit well on my feet but they were not very high at the ankle and calf. Lower than most crew socks. Also a little too tight so after a few hours of wearing it became uncomfortable.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • boring packaging

Who knew dry socks existed?

To be clear, they are not 100% waterproof. I used them for a winter trail race that crossed several creeks and had to run through a lot of awkward things. What they did was keep my feet warm when they finally got wet about 20 minutes into the race. I like the colors but if I did it again I could get darker colors as I do a lot of mud walking and the mud seems to be taking its toll on the bright yellow.

Tumble dry when camping

With only one pair of these waterproof socks and several days in a row, I started drying them, which the instructions said not to do. Threads can deteriorate faster than if air dried as recommended. Maybe that's why my feet get wet and my socks get wet. Surprisingly, their firmness and clearance to the foot seem to be an improvement over thin cotton or polyester socks, even when wet. When abused, these socks still find another way to meet needs.

Best of all, with consequences

I have ridden these snowboards. AND THEY WERE THE BEST! With one caveat. I found that my legs were embossed with material that had cut into my thigh. These bad boys were comfortable and kept my feet dry and cozy. However, I was a little scared when I took off my shoes and the red lines on my legs looked like those bad guys hit me. Dono, maybe I got my boots on too tight, but still. These socks were very comfortable. I recommend them, just watch your feet for constriction or breathability? I…

Non waterproof best for men

These socks are not waterproof. I wouldn't even call them waterproof. I bought a couple of these for my husband and I to walk the Narrows in Zion National Park. We both have Keen waterproof walking shoes so I figured these neoprene socks would save us the hassle of renting socks/shoes when we get there. As soon as we entered the river, the water soaked the socks in 10 seconds. I will say the socks did an excellent job of keeping the water in our socks and shoes because every time we ran the…

Works great in shallow water

I think they are waterproof but not sure how effective the protection is. I wore them three times while wading in the creek and my feet were completely dry, and the fourth time they didn't work at all. Here's what I think happened: The last time I took them off, water got into my socks and they didn't dry until I put them back on. Did that somehow result in them not being waterproof the next time you put them on? I'm not sure though because I washed them in the washing machine between the first
