Ranger SRA-198 Noise Canceling Mic for CB Ham Radios - 4 Pin Wired Review

I have heard of Ranger radios and mics before but have not known anyone who has dealt with them. I use my CB radio every day and need a good microphone. I checked out the ranger and liked what I heard. I bought the SRA-198 and so far it has worked very well. All reports are loud and clear. I have had both Turner and Astatic mics in the past and would rate the Ranger as good if not better for the price.

PUT THE MICROPHONE RUBBER PAD ON YOUR LIP! Then tell me how they work, many people buy noise canceling mics and don't use them properly, PLACE A RUBBER PAD ON YOUR UPPER LIP AND SPEAK NORMALLY, it will sound great!

Passive (without battery) and noise cancelling. I use two of them. One in my personal car and the other in my work truck. The noise cancellation feature of this mic allows me to get maximum modulation (mic gain) without clipping, distortion, or on-air feedback. I get clear audio on my talkback. My main radio is a Galaxy DX979 and it's tuned, tuned and aligned. You are also welcome to use this with any standard radio. Works well with ham radios or any radio with a 4 pin plug.

This is the heaviest and most durable microphone I have used for CB radio in 4 decades of CB and ham radio. It seems very well built. The extra spring where the cable enters the microphone is a nice feature.
