It was a great item at a great price. I love the smooth opening and lowering of the tailgate on a heavy truck and that price was great. It was easy to install and works great.

This is my third Revain tailgate aid and also the cheapest. but the only one that has proven its durability and reliability. I've been using it for 5 months now with no problems. Opens a little slower than optimal, but really no complaints. The instructions aren't the clearest, but installation is easy once you figure out how.

There was a problem with the bottom screw that attaches to the tailgate making contact with our side panel. Does anyone know a remedy or is it possible that we got the wrong screw? We installed the barrel, but as tightly as we found comfortable (about 10 turns) and we still couldn't get it clean. We had to send it back. Although everything was going fine until we tried to close the back door.

I installed it three months ago. The tailgate pillar is screwed directly to the loading area. You must pay attention to carefully install the bed screw (friction). Once that screw was in place, the rest of the setup was fluid. The OEM cable holding the bed door had to form around the tailgate support shock absorber, but after a few days it closes perfectly. Sometimes when I'm in a hurry to open the back door, I get frustrated with how long it takes to open it. But I need to remember the reason…
