Just got back into card making and was excited to try Distress Oxide Ink Pads with mini blending tools. Was very disappointed to see how dry the pads were. I'll keep them and buy some ink to contain them, but I didn't expect to have to do it right away.

Didn't use good opaque ink until you used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink! Cover beautifully and react beautifully with water! Just great ink! Think of this product when you need new ink! You will ❤️ love them as much as I do! ♥️Photo below!

1 star It's not because of the oxide ink, it's because it's dry when you receive it. I'm waiting for news from the company. I'll update this when it's resolved to let you know of the results. They're creamy and soft and perfect for embellishing card stock for a gorgeous background. They blend very smoothly without much effort and the colors are beautiful. The way they react with water is magical for special effects. They are easier to mix than the original distress inks. Each type has its place - these are best for blending, originals are great for dampening and creating watercolor backgrounds. Oxides are a little expensive but great inks.

I've seen them used on YouTube and I've tried using them the same way. During the time I've been using them, they haven't impressed me. In my opinion, the colors are not bright, but rather pastel. So for me they are of little use, but maybe I'll try to make something out of it. with hope! Had I known that, I would have avoided using acrylic paint altogether as it is much more vibrant. Maybe it would be better if I could find good rubber stamps.

I love this oxide ink but one of the canisters I received is broken. When I tried to remove the lid, it got stuck in a groove in the bottom of the container. When I finally took it off part of the top container broke and now there is a hole between the top and bottom. This is the second Distress Oxide I've come across. I don't want to go back to Revain because the rest of the colors are fine.

It looks like half the ink pads in the group are dry since my brush or sponge didn't wash off much of the ink. Many years ago I used to stamp and make cards a lot, but then I stopped. Now I've jumped back in and everything has changed - like these Distress Oxide ink pads. Dye and pigment inks used to exist, but they never worked together. That has changed! This Distress Oxide ink acts more like a pigment as it is much more opaque than traditional stamp pads.
