They're creamy and soft and perfect for embellishing card stock for a gorgeous background. They blend very smoothly without much effort and the colors are beautiful. The way they react with water is magical for special effects. They are easier to mix than the original distress inks. Each type has its place - these are best for blending, originals are great for dampening and creating watercolor backgrounds. Oxides are a little expensive but great inks.
