Works fine. I brought this to replace a Sawyer filter that was clogged after storage. With this filter you can replace the middle and save a lot of money. It worked well for the first few uses. I hope this model survives.

I love this filter! Drinking from a water bladder takes a little longer than usual, but I found it very convenient to be able to just dip my water bladder into a stream or lake whenever I stumbled across it on my 98-mile backpacking adventure. At the end of the day I poured more boiling water to fill my wide mouth water bottle to stay hydrated but it comes in so handy on the trail!

I was about to replace another brand of filter in my gravity filter with this. It worked great for a weekend of hiking. On the second ride I brought the water to a boil because the flow just stopped - I even tried to suck up the water which was difficult to get it going. But there is no river. I converted this to a gravity filter and it works fine. I used to use Sawyer Squeeze but it freezes too much if you leave it for a while and I also accidentally left it in freezing temperatures which makes it useless now.
