It's a pretty lousy design, the ears which are designed to create friction to keep the sensor from lifting are pretty flimsy but works with a few spares the device still works when the mount breaks (which it does).

I don't know why it's a top product and plastic sensor bracket. They were sometimes replaced because they break easily. The second time I replaced it it was loose and I had to adjust it manually after taking the boat fishing. Still cracked. The manufacturer does not use stainless steel brackets. Much luck

Be very careful that your transducer does NOT come into contact with ANYTHING that could put pressure on the main mount attached to the transom. The weakest point of this bracket is the rounded ends where the mounting screw connects the sensor to the bracket. But it's probably much better if the transom mount breaks before the encoder.
