It is longer than 9 volts.

These Rayovac 9V batteries measure 1.76 inches compared to 1.73 inches for Duracell Procells. Those three hundred inches make them a nightmare for First Alert smoke detectors. I had to take down all the alarms from the ceiling and struggled to install them. I don't know what annoys me more: battery makers making their 9V batteries too long, or device makers making their 9V battery wells too narrow.

Shelf life is almost 5 years

Received a pair of these batteries today. The expiry date listed on it was February 2024, leaving 4.5 years until expiration. Output voltage 9.7V. For the convenience of one-day delivery and at a price of $3.35 each, I am satisfied. I use it in a heat gun with an infrared thermometer. They are made in China. Also, the infrared thermometer was purchased on 11/2015 and came with a battery (non-alkaline) that expired on 8/2017. Lasted until 10/2019 with moderate use.

I only buy Fusion Rayovac Now

I used to always buy D type batteries. That was my route to the brand. Felt like they were top notch. Last year I felt a drop in quality at an old favorite brand when I had to throw away 4 flashlights as the 6 month old batteries were rusting and leaking. Read online about these complaints and brand D's perceived lower quality. Read reviews of CR that have tested all brands. CR recommended Rayovac Fusion. Switched to AAA, AA and 9V Rayovac fusions. Extremely satisfied. Nobody failed. None have…
