Opened the box, put in the batteries (not included) and it worked the first time. No code, no connection, no instructions required (which is good since there were no instructions). I am using this on a TCL Roku Smart TV (model 55S425). The old remote works at the same time as this one, but I prefer the YouTube button on this one.

Spend $2-$3 more and get a similar one. This remote works when it wants to, that's the biggest problem. The buttons are made of silicone instead of hard plastic like regular clicks. I'm from Boston, so we're talking a clique. I'd rather pay a little more and wait another day than deal with the fact that I can't skip ads while watching my favorite shows on YouTube.

We have 2 TCL TVs and one of the remotes was water damaged. We weren't partial to this remote, especially since the two shortcuts on it have been set for Roku apps. This new remote gave us better shortcuts (well, Netflix and Youtube, we don't use the others). It looks lighter than the original. , the pressed keys click a bit, but for the price I can't fault that. Still, it doesn't look cheap at all.
