Suitable for charging my old Asus laptop

The first cable that arrived was the wrong size. It turned out to be a lettering error. I contacted the seller and reordered. The second cable is the correct size. Excellent customer service. I checked the cable and it actually works to charge my Asus x401a laptop. This is an old laptop that originally came with a custom 65W charger. I'm using a 65W Power Delivery USB-C charger with a new cable that goes straight from the charger (USB-C) to the laptop (barrel port). It works well.

Pros
  • Sturdy design
Cons
  • Update available

Doesn't work for 20V 3.25A (65W) 5.5x2.5mm for USB-C use

This cable just doesn't work. It looks like it will provide some power, maybe 5V, but not enough to charge the laptop. The company tried very quickly to diagnose the problem but in the end the problem was not solved and this product does not live up to what is claimed. The design may not have been properly tested on multiple products. I was trying to use a Poweradd battery to charge a Lenovo laptop. Otherwise both work normally.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Exactly what my TS100 soldering machine needed

Works great. Plugged into a USB-C PD 20V outlet, plugged in the TS100 soldering iron and waited a few seconds for the voltage adjustment to complete. The screen lit up, I pressed the solder button and in a few seconds I was ready to solder.

Pros
  • Something about that
Cons
  • I will add later

I've tried this with 60w and 45w chargers from Aukey, RavPower and Nektek, has been great with all is working. My 2019 Dell Inspiron 15 AMD laptop wouldn't turn off the power (use the laptop as a power adapter), but I don't think the adapter is to blame. Dell is very picky about what you plug into this thing. I usually use an SQ-001 soldering iron with a Nektek 45W quad-output USB-C surge protector for this. Under 24 volts it can only run at 40 watts, so that's ideal. This wire works great.

Pros
  • Pretty
Cons
  • Some flaws

Works great when used correctly

Some reviews seem to suggest people are using this connector the other way around. This goes from a USB-C power adapter to a cylindrical DC plug, not the other way around. To do this, you need a different type of adapter. I have a laptop with a Type-C port that I want to leave blank so I can charge it directly into the port on the case using a Type-C cable. I have a 100w power adapter for it and it works great, with HWInfo the laptop draws around 55-60w of power and on top of that it charges at

  • Best in Niche
Cons
  • Blunt Hardware

Works great for my needs but there is a caveat

This cable outputs 5V first THEN 20V. If your charger can't supply 20V it will supply 5V indefinitely. It's an artifact, how USB PD works. The PD port supplies 5V to power anything that might be on the other end and THEN makes an adjustment to switch to something higher if possible. The electronics in this cable don't do anything clever to prevent the end of the barrel connector from going 0>5V>20V or 0>5V indefinitely unless the charger has a 20V mode. One such trick would be very…
