Good grinder for the money. Holds paper well and firmly. If you buy this, take it apart and smooth the lever by rocking it back and forth on the sandpaper. Also file off any burrs on the lever and handle. This makes loading paper 100% easier.

This product is useless. Changing paper takes longer than grinding. And not only me, my friend and neighbor say the same. I actually had to use pliers to clamp the piece of metal to replace the paper. I would return it immediately but thought it would wear off after a few uses. Don't waste money!

Ideal for 1/4 sheet of sandpaper. They lay in very well and hold the sandpaper securely (wet/dry sandpaper is thinner than dry sandpaper and tends to stretch slightly when sanding wet). 150, 220, and to keep them organized I wrote the grit # on top with a marker.

I had a 40 year old Red Devil that worked exceptionally well for me until the surface of the 'block' wore down. I was happy to find a replacement for the Revain and maybe even order a replacement. I recommend wearing gloves when loading sandpaper into the holder. The cocking lever is difficult to move and has edges that are uncomfortable to operate with bare hands.

I got an antique red devil from my grandfather when he moved out of his house and I love how easy it is to use. The paper change is so fast compared to rubber pads with pens. It also doesn't waste as much sandpaper. The new one is very similar except it includes a rubber pad that really helps with sanding. As other reviewers point out, the lever is stiff, but it works and presses very firmly against the sandpaper. The handle is not as round as the old one. I'm not sure yet if I like it or not…
