Baja Blue not blue

I must warn everyone not to repeat my mistake. Baja Blue is lilac or light purple, not the blue pictured on the Revain website. I only paid about $6.50 and can use it to make hats for charity. So I kept it and ordered a blue one which hopefully is blue.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Little things

Unusable - not as advertised.

The color of the thread I received looks faded and does not look like the color pictured here, although the paper tape around the thread identifies the color as Baja Blue. The yarn is clearly mislabelled. Also, the quality is poor - rough and unrefined. Very disappointed with this product. The seller requires some inventory/quality control measures.

Pros
  • Quality Finish
Cons
  • Repair

Oh, Yarn It!: Yarn

I was drawn to this yarn because of the many shades of blue. However, it is not easy to work with him. When the yarn is pulled through the loops there is resistance against the yarn and the yarns tend to separate into layers. Because of this I had to redo some stitching. I'm going to finish my project because of the time and money I put into it, but apart from the color I wouldn't recommend this particular yarn.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black

Nice ombre yarn but paler than in the photo.

I really like this Red Heart Ombre yarn because it changes color smoothly and comes off the center with no knots. My only issue with this is that the color looks medium blue on the page but is actually white to ice blue and then a pale ombre blue. I was hoping for a dark blue, more like sky blue. I'm keeping it because I can use it for my charity projects, but I won't use it for myself.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors are here

Not the color I expected but nice enough. KNOT too.

I wanted a color changing yarn for a specific project but I couldn't decide if I wanted to do Ombre or Bunt until I saw Baja Blue. The image on my monitor was the perfect color I was looking for so I bought several skeins. When I received them they were not at all the color I had imagined. I was expecting BLUE you know? Maybe the person who named that particular color had a fart in their head because it's clearly NOT blue. It is more reminiscent of lavender tones. However, I used it anyway and…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions
