Ok, I just picked the wrong item as a gift.

Unfortunately my friend didn't need it. Bought as a birthday present. Again, it's not my fault, I just chose the wrong gift for my boyfriend who spends a lot of time on his boat.

Must come with case but not an option

I like this product for its size and versatility for checking temperature, humidity, lumens and air velocity. However, it must come with a case for protection. Making it optional is a bit silly.

but reading is still useful.

Bought for my wife who is an environmental scientist who now carries it in her work backpack (which is strong endorsement). We mostly use a humidity sensor. She hasn't calibrated it, we don't know how accurate it is, but the readings are useful nonetheless.
