Versatile but needs improvement

This is a versatile nutcracker. I mainly use it for English walnuts. Breaks everything with ease. The downsides are that the screw mechanism that adjusts to the size of the nuts isn't very smooth, so it can be difficult to turn to the right size. It's not difficult, but it hurts. Additionally, some observers note the tendency of projectiles to burst outward in all directions. I solve this problem by running a washcloth or microfiber towel over the block when it breaks. Finally, I wish the unitโ€ฆ

Great Nutcracker! - Seasonal Decoration

This item replaced a similar item I had years ago and gave away without thinking I would need it. I have a plastic one and have used it for most of this year's nuts I got from a friend. Works well but wears out. So I ordered this for future years or two tubes of nuts I have in stock. I also got one of these for a friend who gave me nuts. They used nutcrackers, which we all have. It's SO much better. I find that placing them in a 10x13 pie pan helps, and sometimes using a kitchen towel on topโ€ฆ

Hickory Nut Headache: Not Worth the Price

We recently bought land that had wild hickory trees growing on it, so we harvested a gallon of nuts. After hearing that they are very difficult to crack/use I found a website that recommended this nutcracker. It worked very well the first time. However, after trying it on my second nut harvest, I noticed that the "screw" that adjusts to the size of different nuts didn't move. So I smeared it. He moved enough to start the second game. But then I noticed that the body of the bolt was bendingโ€ฆ

Fits all nut sizes

I chose this nutcracker over the cheaper Duke version because the Duke comment said the threaded shank couldn't be adjusted far enough for small nuts. Although this one costs twice as much, the picture correctly shows that the barrel is longer and reversible for different nut sizes. It can be used on almost any nut, large or small, and is strong enough for most. It still has some flexibility when cracking hard nuts and I wouldn't dare try black walnut or hickory on it because it's not hardโ€ฆ
