I was initially a bit reluctant to invest in them because of the saying "you get what you pay for". But I decided to do this because I made some watercolor markers. Needless to say they worked well because they were cheap, didn't leak or whatever. I gave it 4 stars as some of them are clogged but can be fixed with a pin.

The tip of the brush is so deep inside that you can't squeeze the handle to squeeze water out where your hand would normally go. I have to get my hand more than halfway up my wrist to squeeze the water out. It's unnatural for painting and you have to constantly adjust the brush in your hand to squeeze the water out. It also unscrews again, so it took me a few minutes to open the brush for the first time.

I bought these brush pens to use with my four year old hoping they wouldn't make as much mess while painting as a regular brush, cup and water. I was right and wrong. lol By giving a brush filled with water, the child was simply given permission in the eyes to squeeze out the water. They learned how to use it properly, but it took a little longer. I would say not for kids under 5 unless you are up for the mess. Otherwise they work fine.

I purchased this inexpensive travel set for art workshops where I provide participants with a spot watercolor palette. I believe that they will work well to achieve the desired goal. I liked that this set had four round brushes of each size and not a combination of round and flat brushes. This was the only set I could find that did this.
