I didn't step on my shoes.

Couldn't fit over shoes due to an important non-stretch part, but any larger size would be too loose everywhere (which already seemed). Maybe only for very narrow shoes. I plan to return.

not very durable and not waterproof

Two nice features: Velcro instead of zippers and highly reflective trimmings. Waterproof enough for short trips, no more than 25 minutes in moderate rain. It's difficult to find shoes larger than size 48 (Giro), but that's true for most other shoes. The problem is that the stitching is brittle: after about 5 runs, the stitching just came undone. I couldn't figure out how to contact the seller to discuss a replacement.

Good protection but not for shoes with laces

Good protection against water and going a size larger than you think is really recommended. I wear US size 9.5 shoes and size XL is ideal for my MTB cycling shoes. BUT, my boots have laces and the booties are not easy to put on and there is no place to tie them. I can think of a way to use them without leaving the laces undone. I think if you have cycling shorts without laces they will be fine. I commute to work a 17 mile round trip every day.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Quick guide

So much potential.: Shoes

The concept is great and they are VERY reflective! I used them when wet, they were waterproof and kept my feet warm by reducing the wind. I listened to the reviews and got the right size, they were still very difficult to put on, they used to be great. In the first week of use, the velcro on my right boot came loose and the reflective material started to tear/disintegrate. I'm not sure I can really recommend it - in any case, the right idea, size and fit needs to be sorted out.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Empty

Will not fit over cleated mountain bike shoes

Done, barely fits the heel but too big for the rest of the foot. I'm sure they are great for street shoes; but don't worry if not. The design is very nice but the only thing I would change (that would mean size L would fit) is to leave the bottom seam open and extend the velcro to the bottom of the heel so the velcro isn't there is stitched where it meets the heel. That was my problem, it was too hard to put the heel covers on. Otherwise I think these would be great covers!

Pros
  • Great overall fit
Cons
  • Not the best

Looks great, but terribly cheap.

The covers do not correspond to the size. Ordered XL but was too small. Came back and got XXL. Even in size 46 I can't get the velcro fastener on the back. Incredibly difficult to get up from, even at the enlarged size. After one use, the entire reflector material was torn. They are very cheaply made and didn't even survive the first (dry!) ride around town. I'm a bit scared if it ever rains or snows in them. All materials wear out the first time they are used. 41.4 miles. Very sad. Theโ€ฆ

It makes you visible to cars!

Everyone knows that feeling when a car gets too close! Before I used those Reflec toes (okay, I'm not lying about the name either), I thought people were just idiots. Now I know riders don't realize they're on a bike until it's too late to adjust. Before purchasing I wore a turn signal on my helmet and a turn signal on my bike, but cars still buzzed me. Now cars change to another lane and even blink before returning to our lane. My theory is that the flashing red lights look like a car beingโ€ฆ
