Lubricates surfaces for a smooth, tight seal.

A+. This compound lubricates threads and mating surfaces for a tight seal. Use without and then apply and see how much easier it all pulls up. Fantastic product!

Pros
  • NYLOG RED: Mineral oil based for use in ammonia, propane, CFC or HCFC systems.
Cons
  • Very expensive

Nylog Review of Thread Sealants

This product does not seal pipe threads. During my Mopar RV2 supercharger overhaul, the product seemed to work, except for the Schrader valve fitting (which screws into the head) and the oil filler plug, both of which are pipe threads. Pros
  • This Lubricant: Nylon can be used as a high tack assembly lubricant when installing shaft seals and o-rings.
Cons
  • Obsolete

I decided to give it a try and pulled out the vacuum but it still didn't hold the vacuum all night. I decided to just fill the system after creating a vacuum with refrigerant and some sealant. Everything has been fine here for 2 months and I still have air conditioning. I…
