Unreliable and Frustrating Kitchen Gadget

The thermometer never seems to give an accurate reading, making it almost useless in a home and kitchen SETTING. While the size is convenient, the lack of reliable results makes it not worth the purchase..

I like analog thermometers. You don't need batteries.

Analog thermometers are always ready...no batteries needed...never. When you need them most, digital thermometers always seem to have a dead battery. With analog devices, the easy-to-read dial tells me exactly what's going on in my fridge and freezer. My freezer is in the garage and electrical codes require you to use a GFCI (ground fault circuit breaker) outlet. The chain broke, but this was not noticed until five days later, when all the meat had already thawed. I reinstalled the GFCI outlet…
