Use some silicone grease and twist the plastic guide back and forth many times in small increments, adding a little more each time. Take your time, if you use force it will crack! Did a trick to fix the window in my jeep. Just be careful not to twist it too tight. This is a genuine replacement and shares the same design flaw as the original. Just relax and you'll be fine.
