Old-school, hard, slippery plastic isn't the best choice for hands with arthritis.

Should have looked for more but they seemed like a good price and looked just like the ones my mum gave me 40 years ago and which I replaced seemed good. Then my sister with my arthritis asked why I didn't buy one of the new ergonomic versions and I gave it a try and she was right. While tested and consistent with the mother version, the plastics are more difficult to grip than the new ones, and as much as I love my historic home and classic car, these older versions only fit and not for those…

Handy little kit for unpicking seams and reusing trim

I work with a client who loves to reuse leftovers from old clothes, curtains, sheets and linen to make new shirts, vests, Embellish aprons and petticoats. This means a significant amount of time ripping through old seams and threads to separate serviceable items from old, worn parts. You can't do without a sharp ripper and scissors for this job - and this set, along with a handy carrying case, is perfect for the job. Overall a good deal, with quality tools and fast shipping. Official phrase!

I wish the blades on these tweezers/knives had a hard cap or sheath

Excellent seam unpicking kit. A carrying case is not required. I like that the rippers have protective caps so they don't cut and wear out the blades. The only thing is that these tweezers / suture opener (I don't know what it's called) are very sharp and don't have a hard protective coating for them. All he has is a plastic sleeve, which he immediately pierces. If you try to put your hand in your pocket to get it you may lose your finger, this thing is like a scalpel, it's VERY sharp.
