Both ends had to be cut off

This is the first solar cable I've used and I wasn't impressed. One end has a 3/8 inch battery terminal ring that I had to cut the heat shrink tubing to make full contact with the battery and the other end had some leads cut off so I had to cut the wire to strip the insulation properly I wouldn't buy them again if I hadn't been unsuccessful in finding a better product.

Pros
  • Solar and wind power replacement parts and accessories
Cons
  • Retrofittable

I like the idea of โ€‹โ€‹lightness of opportunity.

I have a question about this product. I ordered two for my two 100w solar panels. The charge controller could not be connected to the battery. When I switched to the mc4 SAE adapter and connected it directly to my trailer, the charge controller turned on immediately. All my wires are 10 AWG. Do you know why alligator clips don't work? If I've missed something, I have to retrieve them and come up with a new game plan to connect my charge controller to my battery. I love the idea of just swapping

Pros
  • Terrace, lawn and garden
Cons
  • Availability in stores

The battery terminals are very poorly crimped to the cable.

The cable itself is good, the ring connectors that go to the battery are crappy and badly crimped to the cable. As others have pointed out, battery connectors can come loose at any time and should definitely not be bent too often. They didn't bother using heat shrink tubing between the battery ring terminals and the cable as shown in the image for this article. Also, no solder was used on the battery terminals along with the crimp to ensure the best possible electrical connection. I've come toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Solar and wind power
Cons
  • Good but not great
