I bought this for a TX-NR696 (as it advertised compatibility) and many of the buttons just don't work. I had a TX-NR585 and this remote worked fine with the 696. However, I sold an old receiver and needed to turn on the remote and was hoping it would replace some of its functions. Unfortunately this did not happen and the remote control could not be returned. Finally, the buttons are qualitatively very rigid and hollow. Wouldn't buy again.

Luckily the remote control works. I needed a new volume remote because mine didn't work. This new remote has several buttons that work on my receiver and a lot of them don't work because it's for a different receiver. This new remote has the same serial number on the front bottom as my old remote. Seems like someone intentionally stamped different numbers on the remote they make or sell and it's good to think the remote works at least for volume and other functions. I won't send it back, be…

Look at my photos - the remote on the LEFT (my original) is identical to the one in the listing except for the "Onkyo" label on the bottom, so i ordered them. The one on the right is the one they sent me! Very close, but "without a cigar". There are several input options on my remote and they all match those on the receiver. Input selector buttons on the one you sent me? Some work as intended, some don't. Note the lack of a tone control on what they sent me. FYI, my receiver is TX-SR309, your…
