Looks like a well made product but when used for dough, even with much less permitted KitcheAid (KSM150) dough gets caught between hook head and KitcheAid axle. This is because there isn't a round plate at the top of the hook like the original KitchenAid hook. I do not recommend this item.

I've been looking for a spiral hook for my KSM150 5 liter blender for years, almost went out and tried to make one myself. This is perfect, works like clockwork, mixes and kneads the pizza dough really well, very smooth and homogeneous dough after just a few minutes on level 1, no more lumps or the dough just turns with the terrible C-beater.

Tip is 3/4 inch too long for KSM103. It will bounce strongly off the bottom of the bowl. So don't use it. Maker: If you're paying attention (reading this), there's a bulge at the bottom of the bowl that your spiral dough hook can't remove. Please trim the end piece by 3/4". If you are reading this and would like to send me a prototype I will be happy to test it for you.

I am thinking about a dough hook specifically. Without the round strainer at the top of the hook that the original Kitchen Aid dough hook comes with, spreading the dough will result in the dough climbing up the hook and out of the mixer, causing a mess when you try to to use the blender near his bowl. The quality of stainless steel is good and it fits well, but the lack of this feature makes it pretty much useless.

The spatula that came with my Kitchenaide mixer was made of plastic and aluminum and just didn't work for me, mainly because it was aluminum and was in the dishwasher. My husband surprised me with this stainless steel and I was in seventh heaven. It's stronger, dishwasher safe, and overall the best option. Don't miss it! Also, I quickly ordered a stainless steel whip to replace the original one. No regret!

This spiral hook is ideal for yeast and sourdough. I've been trying for a long time to find one for my Artisan Kitchen Aid that only comes with a C dough hook and tried another brand that didn't fit the machine. This one works exceptionally well on my 4.5-5 Qt bowls. I didn't have to adjust the angle of the head at all. My wife put the standard Kitchen Aid metal spatula in the dishwasher and it turned out to be corroded (Kitchen Aid, WTF?!?) . I could take a sponge and wipe the rust off the surface of the paddle.
